Narcotic Cleanup Dangers

Cleaning Up Drug Labs

Potential drug labs where people create things like methamphetamine or fentanyl are severe risks for first responders and anyone else who comes into contact with the suspected area. Once these suspected labs are found and shut down, it takes time to ensure that they are safe to enter again. This requires a good amount of experience, patience, and time.
If you suspect your business or property was used as a narcotic lab of some kind, please contact our team for a Narcotic Site Assessment. We never recommend that someone try and clean up these type of situations without the appropriate training and safety gear.

Narcotic Lab Cleanup

Why is the residue from these labs toxic?

Cleaning up a narcotics lab, whether it is meth or fentanyl presents the same dangers and risks. It is so much more than simply removing the drug and lab paraphernalia. Making these illicit drugs involve hazardous chemicals like pseudoephedrine, which is a biohazard by itself not to mention the heightened risk of combining it with other dangerous chemicals.
Once the lab itself has been shut down, it is not safe to enter without full Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). A dangerous chemical mixture of these drug cocktails remain as residue everywhere in the location. There are smoke, chemical residue, and other particles left in the air and on every surface in the location.
The residue from these hazardous chemicals can also seep into a location's heating/cooling system (including duct work), and plumbing which can contaminate the entire location. This means even if the lab was isolated to only 1 room/portion of the location, the entire location is compromised with potentially lethal chemical residue.
